David Michael Reaume

After a courageous battle with cancer, David Michael Reaume, 42, passed away peacefully at his home in Lexington on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. David was born in Lahr, Germany on April 2, 1973 where he lived for the first 12 years of his life before the family returned to their homeland of Canada. He was very studious and enjoyed learning. He held IT and Electrical credentials from the University of Windsor in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada and an Associate's Degree in Biotechnology from Forsyth Technical College in Winston-Salem, NC. He was one of two children born to James and Laura Reaume and will forever be remembered by his brother Robert. David leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Jennie. Together they shared their home with their family of dogs (Duke, Dixie, Jessi and Mollie), goats, chickens, guineas and cats. David's heart knew no bounds when it came to caring for all God's creatures or when it came to his wife. A love like theirs is what fairy tales are made of. Jennie stole his heart and imported him into the United States. After a very long and laborious journey David celebrated one of his greatest moments when he was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen. David was a geek at heart. He enjoyed playing games, collecting Transformers, working on his Warcraft models, laughing, having fun with friends and taking out the fishing pole to see what was biting. His favorite thing was whatever included spending time with his ""Framily"". It did not matter if it was working together at a fundraiser, hanging out by the pool, or a riveting evening of Trivial Pursuit battles so long as it was with the folks who meant so very much to him. David touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. It was important to him to be charitable and give back. His pride in his involvement in a variety of fundraising efforts with his beloved group of BHL's was immeasurable. Although typically quiet and soft spoken, those closest to him knew what a dry sharp wit he had. David maintained this trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. ""And, in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make."" - Paul McCartney. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Deacon Jerry Mathis officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Family Cemetery in Lawsonville, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family welcomes flowers but would also like if you would consider a donation to one of the organizations that David felt an affinity with; The Humane Society of Davidson County, 108 Hamilton Rd., Lexington, NC 27295; Rambo, A True Miracle C/O Kim Greer, P.O.
