Mr. David Hampton Parnell, 67, died on February 4, 2017, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. David was born in Forsyth County on June 28, 1949, to Harold Cornelius and Jeanne Burke Parnell. As a veteran, he served 17 months in Vietnam as an Airframe Repairman and continued his service with the National Guard. David was the owner and operator of T.S.S. Fundraising and Promotions, after retirement he worked part-time for Salem Leasing. He enjoyed Nascar, golfing, and the outdoors. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Brenda Norman Parnell; one daughter, Wendy Bayne (Roger); one son, Brandon Parnell (Ashley); grandchildren, Jessie Brengan (Glen), Jake Bayne, Chase Parnell, and Addyson Parnell; and great granddaughter, Emerson Brengan. Also surviving are one brother, Bob Parnell; and five sisters, Phyllis McCarley (Mac), Sue Ostrom (Dwight), Alyson Dildine (Bill), Donna Zender (Ivan), and Lisa Sapperstein (Glenn). A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
