Mr. David Smith Linville, 72, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. David was born on June 3, 1952, to the late Donald S. Linville and Betty Jo Linville He was a member of Beck’s Baptist Church where he served as an usher and a deacon. David loved his church family dearly. He loved sports and talking about sports with his friends. As a youth, he played baseball and later played in men’s softball leagues. He enjoyed coaching youth softball and basketball teams. David loved to play golf with his buddies and go on their annual golf trip to Southern Pines. He had many friends with which he loved to play. David also loved to play cards and outdoor activities with his precious grandchildren. David enjoyed working for 33 years at Gallins Vending where he had many close friends. He was a strong man in many ways. David was a devoted husband, dad and papa. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Vickie Cornatzer Linville; a daughter, Laura Clark and husband, Daniel; granddaughters, Sophia Clark and Ava Clark; his brother, Mark Linville and wife Susan; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of David’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Beck’s Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 prior to the service. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of his medical team on the 7th floor of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. You became part of his family.
