Mr. David Franklin Kiger, 71, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born in Forsyth County on September 26, 1949, to the late William Raymond and Myrtle Davis Kiger.

Mr. Kiger was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company with thirty-six years of loyal service. After he retired, Mr. Kiger worked part-time at Mock Tire South Park for seventeen years and part-time at Modern Toyota. He loved to fish at the coast and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Kiger never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kiger is preceded in death by a sister, Marie Kiger White, and two brothers, Donald and William “Junior” Kiger. Surviving is his loving wife of fifty-three years, Barbara Robbins Kiger; two children, Shelia Strickland and husband Tim and David W. Kiger and wife Leanne; four grandchildren: Kristina Piela and husband Matthew, Austin Jordan, Justin Coggins, and Jennifer Spensieri and husband Jon; two sisters, Barbara Fletcher and husband Harold and Becky Fulk and husband Harold; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in his honor 2:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Union Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor T.W. Bailey, Pastor Harold Fletcher, and Mr. Peter Steinhaus. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory – Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
