David Wayne Gossett

Mr. David Wayne Gossett, Sr. age 54 of Germanton passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 27, 2011. David was born January 20, 1954 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Paul Henderson Gossett, Jr. and Georgia Wyona Johnson Gossett. He graduated from Parkland High School in 1975 and was married to Betsy Joanna Jakovec on September 18, 1982. David retired from Lucent Technologies and was currently employed at Target of Winston-Salem and NC Children's Home on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem. In addition to his father, David's wife, Betsy Joanna Jakovec Gossett preceded him in death in August 2004. Also one nephew, Travis Gossett. Surviving are his children: David Wayne Gossett, Jr. and Deanna Michelle Gossett both of the home. His mother, Wyona Gossett of Winston-Salem, One sister, Dona Gossett of Germanton and two brothers; Larry (Vanessa) Gossett of Winston-Salem and Barry (Nina) Gossett of Williamston, SC. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Rev. Carol Foltz. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening June 29th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
