David Wayne Gortman

We are mourning the loss and celebrating the life of David Wayne Gortman. He passed away peacefully in the morning hours of March 30th, 2024 at the age of 59. He was born on October 24th, 1964, in North Carolina. David was a family man and a very loving and involved father. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his children. He was a free spirit and a music enthusiast who loved live music and vinyl records. He truly never met a stranger, and cherished his relationships with family and friends. He loved visiting the beach, especially the Carolina beaches, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. David always made a point to tell his family members how much he loved and cared for them. He will be greatly missed.

David was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Gortman. He is survived by his children, Paul, Halley, and Sydney; mother, Polly Barbour; father, Larry Gortman; wife, Wendy Taylor; brother, Sonny Barbour; and his nephew, Jacob Barbour.
