David Stephen Everhart

Mr. David Stephen Everhart, 66, of Walkertown, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born December 2, 1941 in Forsyth County to Joseph Parker and Edna Mae Thomas Everhart. Mr. Everhart was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 30 years of service. He was a former member of Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God and presently a member of Treasure of Life Church of God. He loved people, especially his neighbors, and he loved to play Bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Debbie Everhart; a daughter, Melissa Melton and husband Greg; two grandchildren, Bridgette Everhart and Jessica Melton; a sister, Doris Melton and husband Billy; a special niece, Sandra Rothrock; six nieces and nephews; two great nephews; three great great nieces and nephews; a godson, Dennis Bowles Jr.; and a special friend and neighbor, Norwood Brock and wife Margaret. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18 at Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God with Pastor Charlie Harris and Pastor Dennis McCowen officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family wishes to express special thanks to Forsyth Cancer Center, Angie Flynn, Cynthia Smart, Dr. Paschold's staff, a special nurse, Louann, and a special CNA, Keisha Washington.
