David Franklin Ellis, 72, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was born on August 19, 1948, to John Henry Ellis and Carol Elizabeth Weiskopf Ellis in Burbank, CA. David was a graduate of Elmira College with a Bachelor’s in Music. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1976 with two tours in Vietnam. David was a Registered Respiratory Therapist at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. His interests and hobbies included all things musical and was an avid HAM Radio Operator. His greatest joy however was spending time with his family. David was preceded in death by his older brother John. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara; his son Michael and wife, April; and daughters Rebecca and husband, Tim; Holly and husband William; and Stephanie and husband Matthew; his grandchildren, Rachael and husband Patrick; John, Emily, Amelia, Elijah and Adrian as well as his older sister Peggy, nephew John Kenneth and wife Pamela; and numerous other extended family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Chaplain Cathy Turman officiating.
