David Robert Davis

Mr. David Robert Davis, 58, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away on October 17th, 2014, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He was born on October 19th, 1955, in Charlotte, NC, by the late Mr. John A. Davis, Sr., and Ms. Jean B. Davis. He graduated from Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, NC, and later earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he was also a founding member of the Chi Phi fraternity. He loved the beach and spent many years in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he managed and co-owned several entertainment ventures. Aside from his love of the coast, he was also passionate about flying and received his pilot's license in 1980. While in Delray Beach, FL, he started his own company, Palm Beach Yacht and Jet, and he became involved with the charitable organization event of his favorite football team, Miami Dolphins Fins Weekend. He was also an officer in the National Business Aviation Association. He enjoyed being outside and being active by playing golf and fishing whenever he could. David had an infectious joy of life and he loved to make others smile and laugh through his adventurous storytelling and he was most passionate about bringing family and friends together. He is survived by four brothers, Mr. John Davis, Jr., and Ms. Sharon Davis of Severna Park, MD, Mr. Thomas Davis and Ms. Chandra Davis of Winston-Salem, NC, Mr. Mark Davis of Winston-Salem, NC, Mr. Michael Davis and Ms. Donna Davis of Winston-Salem, NC. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews, including Dr. Heather Davis Epkins and Mr. Bill Epkins of Edgewater, MD, Ms. Ashley Davis Maggio and Mr. Jason Maggio of Waxhaw, NC, Ms. Brittany Davis of Winston-Salem, NC, Mr. Eric Davis and Ms. Dara Davis, of Raleigh, NC, Mr. Alex Davis of Raleigh, NC, and Mr. Zachery Davis of Winston-Salem, NC.
