Mr.David Calvin Cruise, age 56 of Clemmons, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born October 22, 1953 in Surry County to Floyd Calvin Cruise and Thelma Gravely Cruise. Mr. Cruise was a 1972 graduate of Mount Airy High School, member of Welcome Baptist Church in Mount Airy, was employed with R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 35 years as Chief Mechanic and was an avid golfer. He is preceded in death by his father. Surviving is his wife, Allyson Hinds Cruise of the home; one son, Shane Cruise and Fiance, Meredith Brown of Raleigh; one daughter, Amanda Cruise of King; step-children, Lanford Wrenn and Brandy Wrenn of South Haven, MS and Steve Wrenn of Pearl, MS; grandchildren, Colin and Kayla Wrenn; sisters and brother-in-laws, Peggy and Max Taylor of Pilot Mountain and Kaye and Richard Westmoreland of King; parents-in-law, Doug and Lynette Hinds of Georgetown, S.C. and a special grandparent-in-law, Mabel Welborn of Greer, S.C. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, May 24, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Don Wallace, Minister. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 124 Myers Drive in Mount Airy conducted by Rev. Bailey Elmore.
