Darrell Romey Surface

Darrell Romey Surface, 81, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Virginia on April 24, 1941, to the late Lacy Bernardo and Fannie Wheeling Surface.  He retired from Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist with 30 plus years of service.  Mr. Surface was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, welding, woodworking, and flower gardening.  Preceding him in death was his wife, Kathleen Martin Surface; son, Randy Surface; two sisters, and a brother.  Surviving are two daughters, Reka Durgerian (Michael) and Tracy Surface (Peanut); four grandchildren, Tina, Randall, Lori (Tom) and Amber (Shaun); eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Hatcher and several nieces and nephews.  A service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2023, at Parklawn Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Eddie Evans officiating.  The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 8955 Concord Church Rd. Lewisville, NC 27023 or to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
