Darrell Wesley Scruggs

HIGH POINT-Darrell Wesley Scruggs, 68, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was born June 11, 1946 in Indiana to the late Charles Wesley and Gertrude Beatrice Debord Scruggs.

Darrell has been a Wesleyan pastor for over 45 years; he currently was District Office Administrator for the NC East District of the Wesleyan Church, and pastor for the Why Not Wesleyan Church in Seagrove. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved riding his Harley. His ministry has touched many lives and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Watson.

Surviving are his wife, Naomi Scruggs; son, Shawn Scruggs and wife, Bethany; daughter, Lorissa McGee; grandchildren, Derek and Mackenzie Scruggs and Brandon McGee; brothers and sisters, Phillip, Gary and Ron Scruggs and Phyllis Moore; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at First Wesleyan Church in High Point with Pastor Phil Hulen, Pastor Aron P. Willis and Pastor Daniel E. LeRoy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Victory Mountain Camp, 1727 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
