Darrell Lee Gravley, 56, went to join his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his home In Colfax. He was born in Guilford County on February 23, 1966, to Carley “Bud” Gravley and the late Betty “Frances” Bowman Gravley. Darrell grew up in Oak Ridge and graduated from Northwest Guilford High School in 1984. He married the love of his life, Susan, in 1989 and spent 33 years by her side. Darrell’s crowning achievement was to see his children, Amber and Ryan, make professions of faith in accepting the Lord Jesus as their savior. It was Darrell’s godly influence and his life modeled after Christ that persuaded them to become the upstanding, godly individuals that they are today. He went on to provide exceptional performance in his career as a multi-national-level award winning, Master ASE technician at Southeastern Freightlines. Darrell was highly respected in the workplace and spent 32 years mastering his craft. He was a generous and godly man, who served and devoted 26 years of his life to Shady Grove Wesleyan Church. Darrell loved his family more than anything, and provided them with guidance and support, honoring the heavenly Father in everything he did. A friend to all and a perfect illustration of a man with a servant’s heart. Darrell will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Darrell is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Ray Gravley.
