Daron Denard Rickard known to most as "D", departed from us at Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 37. He was born on January 16, 1981, the son of Homer and Vernetta Rickard Peak. "D" was a graduate of West Forsyth High School and attended both Forsyth Technical Community College and Winston-Salem State University. He was employed by Wake Forest University and had formerly worked for many years at Arbor Acres. "D" was a very respected person who was a devoted son, brother, uncle, fiancée, father and friend. His passion in life was sports and he was an avid Buffalo Bills and UNC fan. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Homer and Vernetta Peak; three sisters, LaKesha Rickard, McKinzie Peak and LaChella; a host of other siblings; his fiancée, Mekia "Meme" Watson; son, Deshawn Watson; two special nieces, DaJah' "Budda" Rickard and NiJah "Stink" Rickard, a nephew Joshua "JI" Rickard, a Goddaughter Sania and a host of cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Union Baptist Church with Bishop Sir Walter Mack officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery 3123 Indiana Ave, W-S NC 27105.
