Darla “Brooke” Dennison, 29, left us unexpectedly on Friday, May 19th. Brooke, as everyone knew her, was born on the afternoon of March 14th, 1994. Brooke has three beautiful children: Gemma, Jax, and Matthew. All Brooke ever wanted was to have all three of her children and to live a normal life. She has struggled with addiction for 6 years and was on her way to recovery. She had been clean and working towards being her best self for her babies. She was extremely smart in school, but sadly, it didn’t translate into common sense because she would write everything down, ‘I skipped school today’ or ‘I snuck a boy in’, truly everything, so to say she was not the sneakiest. She was never afraid to stand up for her friends or the little guy. We all shared a different version of Brooke, and we loved them all. There was a version of before the drugs and after, but either way she still always showed her true colors, which her true colors were probably blue and purple galaxy. She fought like hell to be here! Being an addict was not the only reason her body was so tired. She struggled with many other medical problems and she was so exhausted. She can now rest while watching over us and will forever protect the ones she loved. When she loved, she loved fiercely. Tinker bell was one of her favorite characters and she definitely resembled her in all her beautiful ways except those calves. Her choice of sport was soccer, but maybe with all the speeding tickets, she should have been a race car driver. She is the oldest sibling of three. She has a younger brother, Brandon, and a younger sister, Briana. She loved them with all her might even if she wanted to fight them and sometimes did. Having kids is always scary, but Brooke was such an easy, fun baby and made being a parent not so scary anymore. Her mother, Jennifer and father, James, were immediately in love with their new beautiful, perfect baby. Her maternal grandmother Suzanne McLeod, paternal grandfather, John Miller, and grandmother, Darla Miller, all loved and spoiled their first grand baby. Brooke was never not loved. The best way she felt loved is if you cooked her a big ole steak with at least an entire bottle of A1 sauce. That was her favorite meal and if you wanted to share it with her, you better make sure your mouth was closed. Our hearts will forever be broken for what could have been, but we take some comfort knowing she is no longer in pain. There is a piece of Brooke in all three of her babies, and we will love them just as fiercely as she did. There will not be a day that goes by that they won’t know how much their mother loved them.
