Danny 'Dan' Leroy White Sr.

Mr. Danny ""Dan"" Leroy White Sr., 64, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Gaffney, SC on November 4, 1948 the son of George Leroy White and Norma Long White. Dan had just retired from Coach America/ Horizon Coach Lines. He proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Dan was a hardworking, dedicated man who will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Brenda White and a son, Scott White. Dan is survived by his wife of 19 years, Becky White, a daughter, Melissa White of Lewisville, a son, Danny White Jr. (Jennifer) of King, a step-daughter, Yvonne White of Winston-Salem, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, his mother, Norma Long White of Inman, SC and a sister, Cheryl Terry of Inman, SC. A memorial service with military honors celebrating Dan's life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Chaplain, Tom Southern officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 this evening Wednesday, January, 23, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Dan gave the gift of life to others through organ donation, in hopes that many recipients will benefit from his death.
