Danny Eric Owen

Daniel ""Danny"" Eric Owen, 63, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014.

Danny was born February 25, 1951 to Wendell Owen and Dorothy Davis Owen. He worked for Jostens Publishing Company as a printing press operator for 36 years. In his free time, he loved working in his vegetable garden and enjoyed watching Nascar racing until Dale Earnhardt's death. Danny still watched Nascar after that but said it was never the same. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Danny is survived by daughters, Christy Carter and husband Russell of Winston-Salem and Erica Gardner and husband Tim, also of Winston-Salem; son, Matthew Owen of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Danielle, Deidre, Mason, and Karsyn; great-grandson, Jacob; sisters, Barbara Owen and Vicki Dees, both of Winston-Salem; brother, Wendell H. Owen, Jr. and wife Linda of Columbia,TN; several nieces and nephews; and his four-legged companions, which he loved dearly, Maggie and Abby ""Dink"".

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 at 7 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
