Danny Jack Mullins

WALKERTOWN, NC--Danny Jack Mullins, 60 years of age of Walkertown, NC, formerly of Pilgrims Knob, VA passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 after an extended illness, at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Born August 13, 1952 in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of Beulah Fuller Mullins of Pilgrims Knob, VA and the late R. P. Mullins, Jr. Danny was a retired truck driver, having logged over three million miles from coast to coast and had earned many safety awards. He enjoyed wood-working, gardening, was of the Christian Faith and was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. In addition to his father, R. P. Mullins, Jr., he was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Dean Mullins Day. Survivors in addition to his mother, Beulah Fuller Mullins, include his wife of forty years, Eddna Ortega Mullins of Walkertown, NC; two sons, Joseph Daniel Mullins and wife Lindsay of Atlanta, GA, Orville Velez-Ortega of FL; sisters, Kathy Crosby of Bristol, VA, Patty Mullins of Pilgrims Knob, VA, Mary Ann Mullins and husband Bill of Rural Hall, NC. He is also survived by his granddaughter and love of his life, Jaquelin ""Jaqz"" Mullins, nieces, Katreena Crosby of Bristol, VA, Chelsea Mullins of Rural Hall, NC, a great-niece, Kira Crosby Joyce of Bristol, VA, great-nephew and ""little buddy"" Aaron Crosby Joyce of Bristol, VA, friends, Ruth, Roberto, Lydia, Bobby J. Mullins, Zondra Miller, Adlia Mullins and Uncle Belford Fuller. God blessed Danny with his special friends, Buster and Beverly Moore of Walkertown, NC. A Celebration of Life for Danny Jack Mullins will be take place at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Friday, February 15, 2013 at7:00 p.m. with Evangelist Stevie White officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Celebration of Life at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Friday, February 15 at 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will also be conducted Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston Salem, NC with Buster Moore officiating.
