KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Danny Lee Evans, 68, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Danny was born on January 30, 1947 in Forsyth County to Robert Allen and Helen Mozella Cates Evans. Danny was a loving man who especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fellowshipping around the table with his family and visiting the beach. He shared his passion of working with youth through his ministry as Youth Pastor at Christ Temple Church. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Hammons and brother, Ronald Lee Evans. Surviving are his wife, Judy Evans; a daughter, April Lane (husband, Carl); 3 grandchildren, Seth, Cole, and Addison Lane; 2 brothers Ronnie Gray Evans (wife, Jane) and Terry Evans; and a sister Darlene Grubbs (husband, Lee). A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Ctr, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to thank Nurse Jan and the other Hospice staff for their loving kindness shown to Danny while in their care.
