Daniel Wilson Vestal

Mr. Daniel Wilson Vestal passed away in the early morning hours of April 17, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County on March 7, 1939, to Richard and Mae Ashley Vestal. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Shirley Vestal. Daniel retired from Westinghouse Electric Company. He had played semi-pro baseball for the Milwaukee Braves and remained a life-long sports (of all kinds) enthusiast. He was a member of Beck's Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Lucy, and sons Christopher (Heather) Vestal, Rural Hall, and Bradley (Amanda) Vestal of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren Matthew and Jacob Vestal both of Rural Hall, Neely and Lela Vestal of Arkansas. Also surviving are his sister, Louise (Marvin) Calloway of Winston-Salem; his brother, David (Nancy) Vestal of Jonesville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Beck's Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Beck's Baptist Church, 5505 Beck's Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
