Concord - Daniel Allen Stephens, 59, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at University of North Carolina Hospital Chapel Hill. He was born May 15, 1953 in Forsyth Co. to Paul Allen and Ina Jean Tucker Stephens. Dan grew up in the Union Cross area where he enjoyed farming, bird hunting and just being outdoors, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. Dan had been employed for over 30 years at YRC Freight. In addition to his parents of Kernersville, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Deborah B. Stephens of the home; four children, Laura Naylor (Aric) of Greensboro, Catherine Martin (Brady) of Charlotte, Jay McArthur (Sarah) of Concord and Kim Howie (Travis) of Concord; six grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, Kortney, Anastasia, Lance, and Beau; and sister, Carol Grandy (Stan) of Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Union Cross Moravian Church located at 4295 High Point Road, Winston Salem, NC 27107. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Don Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Stephens family.
