Daniel Walker 'Buddie' Redding, Sr.

Mr. Daniel Walker ""Buddie"" Redding, Sr. 74, of Lewisville died Friday, October 28, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1937 in Forsyth County, the son of the late, Daniel Floyd and Sadie Walker Redding. Buddie was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church and was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was an avid sports fan. He umpired and refereed numerous amateur baseball and basketball games. He supported his wife, Lois and enjoyed the relationships they built through the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant Association. He was known as the ""Snack Man."" In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lois Craver Redding and his son, David Jon Redding. Survivors include one son, Daniel ""Danny"" Redding, Jr. and wife, Anita Mock Redding of Hudson; one daughter, Mary Ann Redding of the home; three grandsons, Daniel Redding and wife, Jessica of Harrisburg, Jonathan Redding and wife, Angela of Winston-Salem and Thomas Redding of Hudson; one great grandson, Dylan Redding of Harrisburg; one sister, Peggie Redding Bell of Cary and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, October 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Lewisville Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Redding, Jr. and Rev. Jonathan Redding officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
