Daniel Everhart, Sr.

Mr. Daniel Hauser Everhart Sr., 73, of Walnut Cove passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. Daniel was born in Forsyth County to the late John D. Everhart and Ora “Adeline” Hauser Everhart on May 29, 1947. Dan served faithfully in the Navy on the USS Saratoga. After leaving the military Dan worked at Waters Works in Winston-Salem, various security and warehouse jobs until his last security position which continued for 15 years. He was promoted in his last position to Lieutenant and was affectionately called Lieutenant “Dan”. Dan was an avid fisherman and was most at home with a rod and reel on any body of water. He would proudly regale us with his stories and the size of fish always grew as the years would pass. He was particularly fond of all his grandchildren and enjoyed conversing with them. He will be missed by those who love him. May your lake be full of fish and your lures tied tight as you catch bass in your next life Dad. We look forward to hearing about the big ones when we arrive. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by John D Everhart Jr., and Bonnie E Taylor. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Everhart, Daniel Everhart Jr., and Steve Everhart; sister, Martha Snipes; grandchildren; Amelia Everhart, Levi Everhart, Ayssa Marie Everhart, Nola Everhart and Cyrus Everhart. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, October 10, 2020 at 6972 Salem Chapel Rd, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 under the watchful gaze of Sauratown mountain range.
