Daniel Franklin Cockerham

Mr. Daniel Franklin Cockerham, 76, of Kernersville passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Britthaven of Kernersville. He was born January 9, 1934 in Surry County to Dula and Florence Creed Cockerham. Mr. Cockerham was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Sara Lee with over 40 years of service, and loved old cars. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard Cockerham. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Settle Cockerham; two daughters, Dawn Cockerham Mitchell and husband Norman, Lynn Cockerham Walker and husband Ken; three grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Coe and husband Dennis; and two stepdaughters, Diane Miller and Sherry Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
