Dan Edward Spaugh

Mr. Dan Edward Spaugh, 65, of Ridgeway, VA passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 in Henry County, VA. He was born on April 1, 1950 in Forsyth County to Ruth Pilcher and Aaron Dean Spaugh. Mr. Spaugh was a professor at Patrick Henry Community College for 28 years. He was a talented musician, director of theater, and performer of stand-up comedy under the stage name ""Jack Daniels"". He kept his co-workers, students, and family entertained and laughing with kind words and funny jokes. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; two sons, Joshua Dean Spaugh of Windsor, VA and Jeffrey Daniel Spaugh of Ridgeway, VA; one grandson, William ""Liam"" Daniel Spaugh; his parents; two brothers, Gerald Spaugh and wife Barbara of Walnut Cove, NC, Max Alan Spaugh of Winston-Salem, NC; brother-in-law, Bill Wise and wife Laura of Madison Heights, VA; mother-in-law, Betty wise of Winston-Salem; three nephews, Patrick, Christopher, and Tyler; two nieces, Tammy and Jessica. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Hope Moravian Church with Rev. Andrew L. Heil officiating. Interment will follow at the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Patrick Henry Community College Theater Program, 645 Patriot Ave., Martinsville, VA 2412.
