Dan Thomas Nuckles

HIGH POINT-Dan Thomas Nuckles, 71, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Wesley Long Hospital. He was born August 1, 1937 in Guilford Co. to the late James Sanford and Louise Westmoreland Nuckles. Dan was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. He retired from AC Corporation in Greensboro. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Idol Nuckles of the home; two daughters, Danette N. Andrews and husband Richard of High Point; Charlene N. Tester and husband Gale of Colfax; one son, Eric T. Nuckles and wife Candace of High Point; four grandchildren, Amy T. Jordan (Darrell), Steven Andrews (Amanda), Audrey and Ethan Nuckles; one brother, James Nuckles of High Point; five sisters, Peggy Bowman of Colfax, Lorene Robertson of High Point, Janie Johnson of Dugspur, VA, Ruby Lawrence of Summerfield, and Kathleen Thomason of Raleigh; step-mother, Laura Nuckles of Summerfield. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Peters, Rev. Ottis Hurst, and Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville.
