Dallas Belmont Blakley, Jr.

Mr. Dallas Belmont Blakley, Jr., 71, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 14, 2011 at his home. He was born March 29, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Dallas Belmont Blakley, Sr. and LeMay Hauser Blakley. Mr. Blakley was an active member of Old Town Baptist Church where he was the Sunday School Administrator. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 35 years of service in Research and Development. He loved his family and was especially involved with the activities of his grandchildren. He enjoyed hiking and any outdoor activities. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Carolyn C. Blakley; daughter, Kimberly Blakley Christian (Bobby) of Rural Hall; son, Bryan S. Blakley (Kim) of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Morgan and Kelsi Christian and Chase and Gracyn Blakley; also surviving are two sisters, Tommye Fox and Barbara Young both of Winston-Salem and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 17, 2011 at Old Town Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Town Baptist Church, 4386 Shattalon Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
