Dale Lee Williams, 66, passed away at his home in Rural Hall on May 13, 2022, after a courageous battle against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was born in Forsyth County on July 14, 1955, to Charles and Nancy Williams. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Donna Rothrock Williams, to whom he referred to as “his angel.” He was a kind, loving and amazing father to his two children, who will miss him dearly, Wesley (Heather) Williams and Andrea (Terry) Williams, and his grandchildren Olivia (Seth) Walker, Benjamin Lee Williams, Kaylee Trivette and Hunter Trivette. He is also survived by his seven older brothers and sisters, Wanda (Frank) Stearns, Bonnie (Joe) Snider, Frank (Sara) Williams, Sandy (Rick) Tesh, Steve (Marcia) Williams, Terry (Melody) Williams, and Ronnie (Diane) Williams.
Dale graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1974. After graduation, he worked for Southern Railway for several years. He retired with 30 years of service from Johnson Controls Battery Division. Dale continued to work part time, after retirement, at Salemtowne Retirement Community, where he enjoyed interacting with the staff and residents.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed boating, fishing, and sports. He enjoyed spending time in nature with his family.
Dale selflessly participated in an ALS research program, knowing his participation would most likely not benefit himself, but hopefully help find a treatment or cure for future ALS patients.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held Saturday, May 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Christian Church, 8200 Jefferson Church Road, Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The ALS Association North Carolina Chapter, 4 N Blount Street, Ste 200, Raleigh, NC 27601, https://www.als.org/donate.
