Dale Carlyse Messick, 77, the son of Ray Fearrington and Jaunita Conrad Messick passed away on October 14, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center, after an extended illness. He was a graduate of Reynolds High School, attended Wake Forest University, served in the Army Reserves, and was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. Dale was employed by J. G. Messick and Sons (Food Fair of NC) of which he was currently President. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church on Fifth for his entire life.
Mr. Messick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diane Windsor Messick, and 2 sons, Kevin Dale Messick (Laura), and Thomas Ray Messick (Tina). His grandchildren are Holly Anne and Jack Ray Messick, Spencer Fearrington and Grayson Windsor Messick. He is also survived by a sister, Sylvia Messick Gilley and 3 brothers, Ralph (Patricia), Larry (Norma), and Bill (Debby). Mr. Messick also leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great nephew.
One of Dale's passions was to gather his golfing buddies together and he especially enjoyed his ""Fearsome Foursome"" at Bermuda Run West.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Malek Rais. The family appreciates all the love and support giving to him and his family over the last 7 years.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church (First on Fifth) on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm. with Pastor Emily Hull McGee and Dr. David Hughes officiating.
