WINSTON SALEM - Ms. Cynthia Louise Wyatt, age 88, passed away early Sunday morning, July 19, 2015, after years of declining health. Cynthia was born November 4, 1926 in Jamaica to Stella L. Wyatt and Frank M. Wyatt. Cynthia and her family lived in various parts of Jamaica throughout the course of her childhood and teenage years. She attended and graduated from the Alpha Academy School for Girls (High School) in the mid 1940's. After the completion of high school, Ms. Wyatt furthered her educational pursuits by earning a diploma in a Commercial Course of Study. Such efforts proved beneficial when she began her professional career in Kingston, Jamaica working as a legal secretary for a law firm. Ms. Wyatt continued her work as a legal secretary for years until she moved to Manhattan, New York in the late 1950's. After working in New York for several years, she made the decision to relocate to Winston-Salem, NC. In 1969, she began working at Winston-Salem State University, where her dedication and devotion to her work earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She continued to work at WSSU until her retirement circa 1990. Ms. Wyatt was preceded in her passing by her loving parents, Stella and Frank Wyatt. She is survived by her brother, Louis L. Wyatt of the city; sister, Althea V. Wyatt of Old Bridge, New Jersey; nephews, Brian and Derek Wyatt of the city; niece, Sharon W. Rodriguez of Old Bridge, New Jersey; aunt, Joyce Smith of Queens, New York; good friend, Dr. Lelia Vickers; devoted friend and caregiver, Sandra Wilkins; good friend and caregiver, Linda Sue (Larry) May; friend and pastor, Dr. Teresa Forshee; as well as a host of family and friends. Cynthia, a member of the Branch of Hope, will always be remembered for her unflinching faith. From her childhood years until her passing, this tremendous faith remained at the very core of her existence. She will forever be remembered for her quiet grace and dignity, as well as her effervescent smile. Cynthia will be missed by her family, friends and colleagues and the memories of her will live on in perpetuity. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Mt.
