Cynthia Pennell

Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" Elaine New Pennell, 62, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. She was born June 22, 1955 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Walter New and Maggie Butcher New. On November 15, 1979, she married Dana Keith Pennell who preceded her in death after 33 years of marriage. She attended school in Davidson County receiving a high school diploma. Cindy was an entrepreneur for many years, making wedding, birthday and other special occasion cakes and running her own catering business and other service businesses. She dearly loved her husband, children, and grandchildren and was very devoted to them. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Toni Whitley; and brother, James "Jim" New. Cindy is survived by her three children, Jim (Stephanie) Tickle, Jr., Angie (JoAnn) Pennell, and Johnathan (Heather) Pennell , all of Lexington, N.C.; grandchildren, Zach Tickle, Isaiah Pennell, Kolton Pennell, Nathan Brendle, Seth Brendle, Dustin Brendle, Corey Brendle, Krystan "Sissy" Brendle, and Jacob Brendle, and a great-grandchild Sawyer Brendle of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Patricia (Wayne) Moore and Shelia (Richard) Boles of Winston-Salem; three brothers, Bobby (Donna) Brendle, and Brian (Robin) Brendle of Winston-Salem, and Stevie (Tara) Brendle of High Point; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rickie and Brenda Pennell, of Denton, Shirley Pennell of Thomasville, and Angie New of Bunnell, Fl. She is also survived by Diane Elledge, Tammy Everheart and Christian Everheart plus multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Chris Byrne officiating. Burial will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and at other times at the home of her daughter, Angie Pennell.
