Cynthia Shelton Buchanan

Mrs. Cynthia Shelton Buchanan, 50, of Advance passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at her home. She was born April 13, 1961 in Richmond, VA to Elliott Clyde Shelton Jr. and Anne Moss Shelton. Cynthia was a PTA Past President and school volunteer. She was a past board member and volunteer with the Davie YMCA, and also volunteered with the Davie High School football team organizing meals. Cindy had a special gift for gardening and decorating which she used in helping many friends with weddings to special occasions. Surviving are her husband, William C. ""Buck"" Buchanan, III; two sons, William Logan Buchanan and Andrew Shelton Buchanan; her parents; a step mother, Sally; a brother, Elliott Clyde ""Chip"" Shelton III of Richmond, VA; her father and mother-in-law, William ""Bill"" and Barbara Buchanan, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Alphin and husband Robert and Barbara Helms and husband Mike; two nephews, Michael and Brandon Helms and her special best friend, Wendy Chaplin and husband Dale and their two sons, Elliot and Jonathan. A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Karen Roberts officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date with Rev. Don Routh officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com.
