Curtis Lee Edwards

Mr. Curtis Lee Edwards, 78, passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was born in Forsyth County on March 30, 1937, to the late William Wakefield and Pearl Dickerson Edwards in Forsyth County. Mr. Edwards was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a long-time member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church where he was a sound technician for the past 40 years. He was a loyal employee for 51 years at Hunter Publishing which later became Jostens. He enjoyed NASCAR, especially pulling for Richard Petty. He also loved old car shows but most importantly, he adored his family and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Jeannette Edwards; one son Steven Edwards and wife Karen of Ft. Mill SC; one daughter, Tracy Hale and husband Greg of Pfafftown. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Grant Edwards, Logan, Luke and Lauren Hale; one Brother, David Edwards of Winston-Salem. A celebration of Curtis' life will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 2:00pm at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark J. Key and Rev. Andy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
