Coy Franklin Hester, Jr.

KERNERSVILLE-Coy Franklin Hester, Jr., 70, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at his home. He was born October 5, 1938 in Guilford Co. to the late Coy Franklin Hester, Sr. and Margaret Neugent Kiger. Coy loved his family, being outdoors and especially his tractor. He was honorably discharged as a United States Army Veteran. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Landreth;one brother, Phillip Hester; and his step-father, ""Check"" Kiger. Surviving are his wife, Mary ""Louise"" Vernon Hester of the home; three daughters, Penny Barnard and husband Jerry of Hurt, Virginia, Christine ""Ibby"" Young of Kernersville; and Gina Hester of Winston Salem; a half-brother, Michael Kiger; a half-sister, Sandy Larue both of Kernersville; one granddaughter, Destiny LeFevre of Kernersville; two grandsons, Jakob Barnard of Virginia, and Devin Register of Winston Salem; and his step-mother, Nettie Hester of Kernersville. The family will honor their loved one privately In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association Charlotte NC Office, 222 S. Church St., Suite 336M, Charlotte, NC 28202 or the American Heart and Stroke Association, 202 Centreport Dr. Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409.
