Winston-Salem Mrs. Corinne Smith Lindsey, 81, of Winston-Salem, NC, died peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center on January 8, 2013. Mrs. Lindsey was born in Harrisburg, IL, the daughter of the late Joseph Iley and Margaret Hall Smith. She was a graduate of Lockyear's Business College in Evansville, IN. As a secretary she worked for Marquette University, Arrow Shirt Company, and other companies. Corinne retired from Ford Motor Company after many years as their Employee Benefits Representative. Corinne was lovingly devoted to her family and friends. One of her passions was quilting and she also enjoyed traveling, reading and watching college basketball. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem where she served in the Front Porch Ministries. She also volunteered her time each week to play the piano at Clemmons Village II during the Prayer and Share time. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lee Lindsey, and her sister Sally Horton of Harrisburg, IL. She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Winfrey and husband Mark of Winston-Salem and Lisa Hauser and husband Gary of Charlotte; sister, Audrey Coyle and husband John of Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law Marvin Horton of Harrisburg, IL; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church Angell Room with Ken Sanders leading the memorial service. The family will receive friends after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 4-A Oak Branch Drive Greensboro, NC 27407-2145 or Baptist Children's Home of NC PO Box 338 Thomasville, NC 27407-2145.
