Cora 'Jo' Chandler

KERNERSVILLE - Cora ""Jo"" Chandler, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1939 in High Point to the late John Francis and Ida Cox Haynes. Jo was a member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church where she sang in the Chancel Choir and was a very active member of Rachel's Garden UMW. She was married on March 13, 1959 to Zane Wade Chandler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Young. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Zane Chandler of Kernersville; her son, Mark Chandler and wife, Lisa of Winston Salem; daughter, Cindy Kreeger and husband, Blake of Sharpsburg, GA; grandchildren, Andrew and Keva Kreeger; brother, Ronald Haynes; two sisters-in-law, Carol Collins and husband, Dale, and Sue Beeson and husband, Richard; and several loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Cash and Rev. Patricia Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday, July 15, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, 794 Sedge Garden Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284.
