Constance Marie Hancock Boyle

With full hearts, we share the passing of Constance “Connie” Boyle—a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. She passed peacefully on April 15,2025 at her home at Arbor Acres. Born on July 19, 1932, in Winston-Salem, NC, to John W Hancock, Sr and Naoma Beck Hancock. Connie lived a life rooted in love and generosity. She married the love of her life, Jack (Jackie) H. Boyle Jr., and together they built a beautiful life and family. Connie had a gift for making others feel at home, whether it was through baskets overflowing with fresh vegetables and homemade bread, jars of stew dropped off “just because,” or her famous fruit baskets, she had a special way of showing love through the simple, thoughtful things. Her warm presence and nurturing spirit made everyone feel like family. The beach was Connie’s happy place—the sound of the waves, the salty breeze, and casting a line off the pier brought her joy and peace. It was a love she shared with her late husband, Jackie, and one that remained close to her heart always. Affectionately known as “Sweet Connie,” she had a sweet tooth to match her sweet soul. Ice cream, cookies, and especially her legendary sweet tea (which no one could quite replicate) were just a few of the delights she loved.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Jack Boyle III and his wife Beth of Bybee, Tennessee, Pam Boyle and her husband Allen Gentry of Advance, NC, and Steve Boyle of Mocksville, NC; her grandchildren, Josh Boyle and his wife Jennifer of Winston-Salem, NC, Erin Bowers and her husband Eric of Austin, Texas; and the beautiful memory of her granddaughter, Allison England; her great-grandchildren, Easton Boyle, Wilder Boyle, Addie England, and Walker Bowers. In addition to her immediate family, Connie remained deeply connected to her brothers and sisters, John Hancock and his wife Anna Hancock (deceased), Gene Tierney (loving husband of her late sister Lee Tierney), and Hilda Jester and her husband Don Jester. Their shared memories and bonds of love were a treasured part of her life. As we say goodbye to Connie, we hold tight to the memories of beach days, Sunday dinners, sweet tea, and the joy she found in the everyday. Her boundless love will remain a guiding light, reminding us to embrace life fully and love deeply. Though we will miss her deeply, Connie’s love, warmth, and joy will live on in each person she touched. Her legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and the beauty of life’s simple pleasures.

A celebration of Connie’s life will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 2:00PM in the Gazebo at Forsyth Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30PM-1:30PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
