Ms. Connie Jordan Speaks, 79, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 1, 1940, in Forsyth County to the late Roy Lee “Jack” Jordan and Effie Dorse Jordan. Ms. Speaks was a member of Beck’s Baptist Church and the Dorcas Class. She loved quilting, sewing, and her porcelain dolls collection. She also enjoyed collecting roosters and thimbles. Ms. Speaks is survived by two daughters, Melinda Dagenhart (Brian) and Donna Meade (John); two grandsons, Casey Wayne Holden (Shannon) and Nicholas Jordan Holden (Kelsey); five great-grandchildren: Michelle, Brandon, Makayla, Aubree, and Harley; two sisters, Bonnie Everidge and Vickie Southern; two nieces, Angie Hall and Sharon Minton; two nephews, Darren and Derek Southern; and three granddogs. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor T.J. Morrison officiating. Burial will follow 12:30 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
