Mr. Connie Mack Rogers, age 79 of Yadkinville passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his home. Mr. Rogers was born September 1, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Connie Evan Rogers and Reba Oliver Rogers. He was of the Moravian faith. Mr. Rogers graduated from Mineral Springs High School. He was a United States Army veteran having served his country for six years. After getting out of service, he helped his dad in his plumbing company until he started working at Mclean's Trucking Company. Within a few years of working there Mack then got a job at Stroh's Brewery Company where he retired with thirty plus years of service. Mack was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to take family vacations to the beach and camping in the mountains. Mack's favorite things he enjoyed doing was playing softball, fishing and golfing. In addition to his parents Mack was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Holder Rogers, a son, Connie Samuel Rogers, one sister, Jane Rogers Blackman, one brother, Louis Oliver Rogers and a loving sister-in-law, Peggy Holder Bowles. Mr. Rogers is survived by his son, Louis Wayne Rogers, one daughter, Julia Rogers Brandon, three grandchildren; Lori Rae (Logan) Brandon, Nicole (Jeremy) Kurland and Katie Rogers. Two grandsons; Mathew (Kaitlin) Rogers and Nathaniel (Elyse) Rogers. Two great-grandchildren; Brianna Headings and Dayton Kurland. Also his buddies, who would lay with him in his Cadillac chair, Angel and Carlee. Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Silas Creek Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Worth Green. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, August 10th from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers Debbie Smith, Lenora Combs and Tracey Ridings for all their loving care they showed our father.
