Coit Dewey Edwards

Coit Dewey Edwards, 71, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 8, 1944 in Cumberland, MD to Caroline Radcliff Edwards and George V. Edwards. Coit loved to read, play the piano, animals, photography, sports and Civil War History. Coit worked 23 years for J. Josephson Inc. in S. Hackensack, NJ as their CFO. He was a former resident of Rockaway, NJ and after 23 years, he and his wife Linda retired and moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Naomi and Junior Allen and a granddaughter, Hailey Nicole Dougherty. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Linda Allen Edwards; two daughters, Chera Demarest (husband Mike) of Asheboro, NC and Crista Dougherty (husband John) of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and two grandchildren, Angel and John Patrick Dougherty. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eleventh Hour Rescue, P.O.
