Clyde Elmo Parrish, 93, of Winston-Salem, NC went home to be with his Lord; and beloved wife, Maude on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Mr. Parrish was born June 19, 1921 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Jack and Dora Parrish. He served in the US Army during WWII. And he retired from Western Electric with 35 years of service. He was a member of Northwood Baptist Church for over 50 years and enjoyed singing in the church choir, and a gospel quartet and serving the Lord in many areas of the church. But foremost and most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, and 2 sisters. Surviving to cherish his memory are 2 daughters, Shirley Johnson of Winston-Salem, Linda Greene and husband, Eddie of Granite Falls, NC; 3 grandchildren, Taylor, Tonya and Darryl, 7 great grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter expected in February; as well as 2 sisters, Ruth and Roma and a brother, Kenneth; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 8, 2014 at Northwood Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jim Thompson. Burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Park.
