Clyde Cooleridge Nuckles

Colfax - Clyde Cooleridge Nuckles, 84, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born December 9, 1923 in Guilford Co. to the late James Lewis and Alma Long Nuckles. Mr. Nuckles was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. He was a WWII United States Army veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Conrad Nuckles. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Annie Westmoreland Nuckles of the home; two sons, Clyde Waynard Nuckles and wife Carol of Colfax, Tony Patterson Nuckles and wife Trudy of Kernersville; two grandchildren, Wendy Barham (Adrian) and Brandon Nuckles; one great-grandson, Joseph Barham; three sisters, Beulah Harrington of Raleigh, Mary Westmoreland, and Hettie Tucker both of Colfax; and one brother, Billy Nuckles. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, September 1, 2008 at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Colfax by the Rev. Chuck Peters, the Rev. Frankie Matthews, and the Rev. Bruce Freeman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville.
