Mr. Clyde Edward Cromer, 88, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on October 6, 2023, at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yadkinville, NC. Clyde was born in Forsyth County, NC, on October 11, 1934, to the late Rupert Cromer and Wilma Peddycord Cromer. After 27 dedicated years, Clyde retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. After retirement, he enjoyed playing cards, working on cars, and watching NASCAR races, always rooting for David Pearson. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He loved his grandchildren dearly, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Foster; and his brother, Roger Cromer. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jessie Cromer; son, Jason (Connie) Cromer; three daughters, Sharon (Brent) Cooke, Charlene (Mike) Craver and Pat Riddle; and grandchildren, Nick (Jessica) Cromer, Taylor Cromer (Taylor Hill), Matt Cooke, Eric Cooke, Michelle (Chris) Carter, Mary Anne (Billy) Brown, Michael John (Kayla) Craver, John Riddle, Thomas Riddle, Sarah Smith, and Rachel Brady. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Ruth Ann Sipe officiating. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center for the care and love shown to Clyde throughout his stay. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center, 333 E Lee Ave, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
