Clyde Boger

Mr. Clyde Henry Boger, 85, of Advance, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018. He was born in Davie County to Lula Richie Boger and Clyde Houston Boger. Mr. Boger was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He spent his working years at Hanes Hosiery and Stroh's Brewery. Mr. Boger loved his grandchildren, rabbit hunting and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gilbert Lee Boger and Bennie Dean Boger. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Barney Boger "Mama"; two sons, Larry Boger (Donna) of Mocksville and Scott Boger (Candice) of Advance; four grandchildren, Brandi Goodin, Lucas Boger, Austin Boger and Jordan Boger; one great granddaughter, Megyn Goodin; two sisters, Faye Finwall of Lenoir and Geraldine Paschal of Alabama and a sister-in-law, Maxine Boger. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery with Dr. Chuck Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. The family would like to mention a special thank you to Trinity Elms at Tanglewood and to Community Hospice of Statesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church Good Neighbor Fund, 321 Redland Rd., Advance, NC 27006 or to the Alzheimers Association, 4615 Dundas Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
