Mr. Clive Maynard Pardew, 84, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home. He was born May 30, 1928 in Sparta, NC to Avery A. Pardew and Pearl Hodge Pardew. Mr. Pardew was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during World War II. He was a member of Samaritan Baptist Church and retired from Hill Oil Company as a truck driver. Mr. Pardew was employed with Salem Electronics with 16 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Key Pardew and a brother, Guy Pardue. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Shouse (Jerry) of Winston-Salem; a son, Terry Pardew (Cindy) of Mooresville; five grandchildren, Anna P. Whisenant (Kyle), Abby P. Ott (Daniel), Amy P. Smith (Tim), Marnie N. Stoker (Scott) and Robert ""Bobby"" Nicholson (Laura) and four great grandchildren, Tanner and Landis Smith and Benjamin and Myers Ott. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Roaring River, NC with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Mr. Pardew in Lexington, NC. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of arrangements.)
