How do you say good-bye to a man who has been a husband, father and friend for 56 years and has shared your good and bad times? On August 14, 2010, Clinton A. Parker of Winston-Salem passed away from his family and friends to a better place called Heaven. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. Parker. Clinton and Dorothy have three children, and he was preceded in death by his son, Clinton Aldine Parker, Jr. He is survived by his two daughters, Theresa Johnston-Crews and her husband Ken of Kernersville, and Sharon Macy and her husband Jeff of East Bend. Theresa and Ken have two children, John and Keah and her husband Ben. Sharon and Jeff have one son, Jake. He was born in 1936 to Reverend James A. Parker and Lena M. Parker. Clinton met and married Dorothy Smith in 1954. Growing up he attended Mineral Springs High School and graduated from North Carolina State University. Clinton was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and also attended Crews United Methodist Church. He spent his working years at R.J. Reynolds and Roadway Express, retiring in 1992. Clinton was diagnosed with melanoma and lung cancer. In 1992, he began treating himself with bee venom therapy, where the honey bee stings the site of the cancer and provides an overall immune response. His knowledge and compassion allowed him to share this therapy among friends suffering from cancer, MS and arthritis. In addition, he lectured to schools, clubs and organizations through out the state and provided training to the newest bee keepers. He demonstrated bee keeping and honey yearly at the Dixie Classic Fair. Today, Jeff, Jake and John continue to practice the art of bee keeping. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them - his grandchildren were his pride and joy! His cousin, Wayne Melton of Ocean Isle Beach and nephew, Reginald Whicker, are noted as being very special during his young and adult life. Clinton was a man who never worried about anything. He would say, ""Do what you can because worrying won't solve anything."" He also said, ""It is in the Good Lord's Hands."" Clinton told his family he was not afraid of dying because he would be going to Heaven. Clinton gave his life to Christ in 1966 after his son, Clinton Jr., passed away. He is now free of pain and suffering forever and lives in eternity with his Savior. The Family would like to express our deepest appreciation and thanks to the members of Gospel Light Baptist Church, Crews United Methodist Church, and The Forsyth County Bee Keepers Association of NC. Special thanks to his physicians, Dr. Rene Tegeler, Dr. Christopher Thomas, Dr. Robert Alsup, Dr. Karen Cross, and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center for their care, commitment and devotion to our Dad. The family will receive friends Monday, August 16th from 6:00-8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem. The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17th at 2:00pm at Gospel Light Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
