Clinton Franklin Hemmings

Mr. Clinton Franklin Hemmings a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and who enjoyed spending time with his friends and neighbors passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Hemmings was born February 6, 1926 in Forsyth County to John Franklin and Rosella Simpson Hemmings. He was retired from RJR Tobacco Company since 1981, where he was a Project Coordinator. Mr. Hemmings was a WWII Veteran serving in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rachel March Hemmings, three brothers; J.D., Herman, Perry Hemmings and a sister; Opal Hale. Surviving to cherish his memory are his son; Rick Hemmings and wife, Pam of Advance, NC, his daughter, Shannon Clark and husband, Geoff of Kernersville, NC; six grandchildren; Heather, Amber, and Ian Clark, Matthew, Chad, and Brent Hemmings, four great-grandchildren; Noah Hemmings, Maddison Hemmings, Casen Clark, Cammie Blackwell, and a sister; Lewana Huffman of Winston-Salem. The Hemmings Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Sunday, December 13 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm on Wednesday. December 16, 2009 at the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officated by the Rev. Lanny Hemmings. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC. The Hemmings Family would like extend a special thank you to Rachel Shore a very special friend of Clinton and the Hemmings Family.
