SCHLOTFELDT WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Clifford Earl ""Poody"" Schlotfeldt went to be with his Lord on September 9, 2009. He was born June 4, 1925 in Lyon, Iowa to the late Ira Henry and Frieda Wagner Schlotfeldt. Mr. Schlotfeldt was an active member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where he participated in Sunday School, the choir, and as Scout Master of Troop 921. He was a retired carpenter from R.J. Reynolds with 26 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, traveling, and farming. Mr. Schlotfeldt was known as ""Pa-Pa"" to all the children who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Schlotfeldt was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Lillie Hauser Schlotfeldt. Surviving are his loving wife, Jean Schlotfeldt; six children, Connie East (George), Michael Schlotfeldt (Pat), Christine Sizemore, Diane Winchester (Colin), Bryan Sizemore (Lori) and Greg Sizemore (Michaela); 13 grandchildren, Jennifer Schlotfeldt, Jonathan Schlotfeldt, Julie Greene (Jay), Chris Hayden (Randy), Andrea Stone, Elizabeth Blakney (Demetrius), Alex Stone, Katherine Winchester, Josh Winchester, Chloe Sizemore, Cooper Sizemore, Lukas Sizemore and Anna Sizemore; six great grandchildren, Jason Huffman, Hope Huffman, Jennifer Greene, Katlin Greene, Dorian Stone and Kayla Blakney. Also surviving are two sisters, Dolores Fields and Florence Wilson. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem with the Rev. Janet Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday, September 12 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
