Clifford James Krites

Mr. Clifford James Krites of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008. He was born on March 30, 1913 to James and Cora Myers Krites in the Griffith community of Forsyth County where he attended the old Pleasant Fork School and attended Griffith School the first year it opened. He had a brother, Virona (Mac) Krites and two sisters, Edna Mae Krites Harris and Lorene Krites Williamson. Clifford first was married for forty years to Dorothy Rich and retired from Hanes Hosiery Mills after 38 years of service. Their children are son, Charles Krites and wife Anne; daughter, Essie Hardy and husband Ronnie; five grandchildren, Melody Krites Sparks, Wesley Krites and Robbie Krites Everhart, Angie Hardy Davala, April Hardy Wood; and ten great grandchildren. Clifford was a life-long member of Advent Moravian Church where he attended faithfully and was active in many activities. After the death of his first wife, he was married to Beulah Sink Myers and they enjoyed a long productive retirement together. His stepchildren with Beulah are Hazel Sink, Rebecca Dowell and Kelvin Myers. He worked for the Winston-Salem recreation department as a field attendant at Parkland softball field to make extra money for traveling which they both enjoyed. They remained active in his church and community. They spent many days making crafts, mostly quilts which are being used all across the U.S., and by their children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2nd at Advent Moravian Church with the Rev. Dan Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 1st at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Advent Moravian Church Building Fund, 1514 W.
