Mr. Cletus Elbert ""C.E."" Fulk, Jr., 85, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born May 13, 1924 in Forsyth County to Cletus Elbert ""Pop"" Fulk, Sr. and Ethel Cockerham Fulk. Mr. Fulk was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Shattalon Church of Christ where he was on the Board of Elders. He owned and operated Foot-So-Port Shoe Store until his retirement. He loved fishing, gardening, gospel music, and loved to eat good food. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Marie Fulk. Surviving is one daughter, Debra Tester Fulk of Winston-Salem; one son, David Thad Fulk of Kernersville; one sister, JoAnn F. Cash and husband Norman of Pfafftown; one brother, Grady Fulk of Pfafftown; and a host of cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 at Shattalon Church of Christ with the Rev. Gene Woolard officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park with military rites by the Clemmons VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
